Gorges Beer Co. seeks Investors for Cascade Locks Expansion
Gorges Beer Co. opened their Portland Trailhead taproom in January while construction began on their ambitious home base in Cascade Locks, Oregon. The 2-acre site overlooking the Oregon/Washington gorge calls for a restaurant, hotel rooms, barrel-aging facility, dog park, event venue and rooftop bars. While construction is already well underway, the founders of Gorges Beer are looking to raise additional funds to complete their work and dream of completing a new destination spot in the beautiful gorge region.
The New School first reported that an all-star team of founders would open Gorges Beer Co. in the former Coalition Brewing space in southeast Portland with much broader plans for the gorge. In May they officially broke ground on that space in Cascade Locks.
Gorges Beer Co. is offering perks to investors with a starting investment of $100. But this isn’t a kickstarter situation where you get swag or bar credit, instead you get actual shares of value in the company. Early investors will receive a 1.6x multiple for their investment. For example if you start with the low $100 investment the business agrees to share a portion of their revenue until you have been repaid $160.
Gorges Beer Co. also reports a successful first year in business despite the pandemic certainly impeding growth. This points to an upward trojectory for the company as we eventually rise out from under the pandemic and the company is able to fully open for business in Portland and at the upcoming property in Cascade Locks.
Gorges reports that their Portland taproom became profitable in it's 6th month, August 2020, and has remained profitable through October 2020.
Had a gross profit margin of 84% in Q3.
This profit is based on a very small, test location and includes 100% of brewer salary. We expect much better profits when we expand to this much larger, second location.
