StormBreaker Brewing St. Johns turns 3, and releases a Tripel

StormBreaker Brewing St Johns

N. Portland’s StormBreaker Brewing St. Johns pub turns 3 years old this weekend. Founded in 2013 on N. Mississippi Ave. in the former Amnesia Brewing space, the successful brewpub opened a second location in the downtown area of St. Johns in May of 2018 and it quickly became a hit in that community as well. Starting this Friday, the casual anniversary celebration kicks off with the tapping of a new beer - CaTHREEdral Park Tripel.

StormBreaker Brewing St Johns

This years celebration is not so much a party, more of a recognition that the pub made it through its most difficult year yet. There are bright things ahead, as things get back to normal the brewery plans to start hosting events again in their back room (where you can currently do event rentals and has axe throwing) and eventually add another brewhouse for expanded production.

StormBreaker St John’s also continues to be one of the best taprooms for outdoor seating. Not only does the pub have a semi enclosed permanent patio, but also street seating in front of the building and along the partially closed Johns St. side that allows for open air patios.

This weekend, or in the coming days/weeks, drop in and show your appreciation. StormBreaker has shared theirs with the release this Friday of an increasingly rare Belgian-style Tripel ale, a perfect celebratory sipper at 9.1% abv. and available on draft or in 16oz cans to-go.

Stormbreaker CaTHREEdral Park Tripel

Named after St John’s famous Cathedral Park, Stormbreaker CaTHREEdral Park Tripel features robust fruit flavor and aroma with hints of white pepper, rounded out by a soft body and boozy punch. The brewers have stashed a portion away in Pinot Noir French Oak Barrels for a future barrel-aged release. Raise a pint to three years in St. Johns!
