Hopworks announces Winter, Fall, & Barrel-Aged Beer Releases

Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB), the first B Corp brewery in the Pacific Northwest, has released its perennially popular winter seasonal, Abominable Winter Ale,  their equally popular autumn pumpin ale, Great Gourds of Fire, and announced the release date for the small-batch Bourbon Barrel Aged Abominable Winter Ale.

ABOMINABLE ARRIVAL

Abominable Winter Ale is full of personality, a perfectly balanced blend of caramel malts and Simcoe, Cascade, Chinook, and Centennial hops to create a complex, spicy, and citrusy winter ale. 7.3% ABV. 65 IBU. Available now on tap and in 12-oz. 6-packs.

"Mr. Abom has once again awakened from his warm-weather hibernation cycle and is back in town to celebrate cool, cloudy days and cozy pubs filled with great food and even greater beer,” said head brewer Ryan Pappe. “Abom Winter Ale is everything you could want from a winter brew. It’s malt-forward and smooth, with hints of spice and caramel, but still hoppy enough to remind you of Mr. Abom’s Pacific Northwest roots.”

GORDEOUS

Great Gourds of Fire is made with roasted pumpkins from Bella Organic Farm, and is all set to light up a chilly fall evening with warm cinnamon, ancho chili, clove and cardamom. Great Gourds of Fire checks in at 6.5% ABV, and 21 IBU, and can be found on tap and in 16-oz. 4-packs.

“This is the go-to brew for October and beyond,” said Pappe. “The spices are warming, but light, and the malty pumpkin character is super satisfying. Take a few cans of this to your Halloween party and nobody will even notice that you wore the same costume three years in a row.”

BOURBON DRUNK YETI

After aging in bourbon barrels for over nine months, Bourbon Barrel Aged Abominable Winter Ale develops complex notes of vanilla, spice, and citrus, resulting in a truly special brew. Bourbon Barrel Aged Abominable Winter Ale will be released exclusively in Hopworks’ taprooms and John’s Marketplace locations beginning November 18th, and will be on tap and in 16-oz. 4-packs at Northwest retailers in the days to follow.
