About North 45

Located in the heart of NW Portland’s “Restaurant Row,” North 45 is a neighborhood pub with a love for international travel. North 45, the name inspired by the pub’s location on the 45th parallel, is a cozy place to meet your neighbors or people watch with friends while sipping a local craft beer or cocktail. It is also the perfect place for an intimate candle-lit dinner for two over one of the five rotating mussels frites dishes. If whiskey is your weakness, choose from over 150 bottles of some the finest bourbons, ryes, Irish and Scotch whiskeys around. North 45 also features a rotating wine list and an extensive collection of delicious Belgian beers.

The proprietors of North 45, Josh Johnston and Jim Hall are two travel mates who have very different and eclectic life stories but have come together to bring Portland their very own upscale travel pub. The idea was born while they were backpacking through South America together in 2005. “We wanted to incorporate the intimacy and social elements of a pub, without labeling ourselves as an Irish or English pub. We figured a travel-themed pub is something that everybody can relate to and/or be the source of inspiration.”
