Von Ebert Brewing releases New American Pils & Wolf Summoner IPA

Portland-based Von Ebert Brewing, is continuing to release new beers amid the Governor mandated shutdown in Oregon. New American Pils joins the 16oz canned beer lineup following up past entries into their packaged pilsner series like VEB Pils (German-style) Agostini Pils (Italian-style), and Black Pils (dark pilsner).

New American Pilsner is in the vein of a dry-hopped Italian-style Pilsner and other modern takes on the classic German-style. In this instance, the use of Mandarina Bavaria hops add tangerine flavors and Strata hops known for dank berry and tropical fruit notes. Uber-popular Citra hops were used in the dry-hop of New American Pils, the beer finishes out at 5% ABV with 35 IBU's.

“Even though we’re facing uncertain times, we wanted to find a way to help lift spirits,” said Sean Burke, head brewer, Von Ebert Glendoveer. “In that spirit, we proudly offer New American Pils. For this beer we wanted to use the platform of a pilsner, but to showcase more modern hops.”

“It’s the perfect beer for enjoying at home while practicing good social distancing,” said Burke.

New American Pils will be available at both Von Ebert Glendoveer and Von Ebert Pearl, as well as throughout Oregon at retail locations that regularly carry Von Ebert’s beers.

Wolf Summoner is a new Von Ebert West Coast IPA brewed at the NW Portland location in the pearl district. This is a draft beer, but VE Brewing has kindly filled 34oz crowlers for $5 for us all to enjoy. Wolf Summoner is a 6.4% ABV clear IPA with Galaxy, Rakau, Citra, and El Dorado Hops. Cans are now available at both VE locations

Additionally, on Thursday, March 26, Von Ebert will be canning fresh batches of its award winning IPA, Volatile Substance, and its popular hazy IPA, Sector 7. On April 1, Von Ebert will release fresh cans of Sabrage, its dry IPA. All will be available at both Von Ebert locations and hit distribution throughout Oregon.
