Grains of Wrath drops new Cans

Camas, Washington's Grains of Wrath Brewing is filling crowlers and doing to-go sales and delivery from their pub while canned releases will become more frequent. Built for Speed west coast IPA, Crypt Keeper Single Hop IPA and Dystopia NW IPA will be available in 16oz cans in Portland and SW Washington bottle shops and grocery stores at the end of the week. A small amount will even make it up to Seattle.

Grains of Wrath has always been a primarily draft beer brewery with occasional can releases, obviously that model requires a shift to packaged product with the Coronavirus related shutdown.

"With the shutdown dates being so fluid, we currently are scheduling brewing around canning," says Grains of Wrath co-owner/brewmaster Mike Hunsaker. "Some draft will be still available but as we've all seen as of late, packaging is the best option for our customers."

This Tuesday is canning day and the GOW team will be packaging up the following beers for release on Wednesday, April 29th:

  • Dystopia - 6.5% Northwest IPA using Simcoe, Citra and Mosaic to bring flavors and aromas of pine and tropical fruit. Awards: 2019 Washington Beer Awards -  Gold Medal - American IPA - The New School 2019 Best non-Oregon Beer
  • Crypt Keeper - 7% ABV Citra Single Hop IPA with bright flavors and aromas of citrus, grapefruit, lime and tropical fruit.
  • Built for Speed IPA - 6.7% Light, dry bodied West Coast IPA with flavors and aromas of bright tropical fruit, pine and dank grapefruit.

Grains of Wrath will be canning again in early June, hopefully the lockdown will be easing up by then, but regardless we will have fresh beer in six-packs.

"Our core IPA's , Dystopia and EGA, will likely be part of the next canning run," says Hunsaker. "We are still deciding what others to offer. Overkill is a customer favorite and a definite possibility."
