Breweries in the Gorge Host 2019 Holiday Hangover Beer Festival

Saturday, January 26th, 2019, is an annual opportunity to taste the 13 craft breweries that make up the 'Breweries in the Gorge' group at the Holiday Hangover Festival. This intimate showcase of breweries located throughout both Oregon and Washington sides of the Columbia River Gorge will take place at the Elks Lodge in downtown Hood River from 1-7pm.

For one afternoon, beer fans can enjoy the perfect cure for the post-holiday blues with a wide variety of handcrafted beer, local food, and live music.

The Holiday Hangover is not your average beer festival - it’s a relaxing, more intimate experience that allows guests to meet the brewers and sample their labors of love. At this year’s Holiday Hangover, beer fans will have the opportunity to enjoy over 25 different beers, including a number special-release tappings, from 13 breweries. All attendees receive a commemorative glass.

At this year’s Holiday Hangover, craft beer lovers can meet B.I.G.’s newest member, Ferment Brewing Company (Hood River, OR). “We are thrilled to be participating in the Holiday Hangover alongside our friends and neighbors,” says Jenn Peterson of Ferment Brewing Company. “My husband Dan and I are ever thankful to be launching Ferment with the support and encouragement of B.I.G.”

Seasoned craft beer enthusiasts who have explored the Columbia River Gorge may already know B.I.G. from their “Gorge Beer Guide,” a passport program that invites drinkers to visit and collect stamps from each brewery. This year, beer fans can now collect their stamps using the “Breweries in the Gorge” digital app, available for download on Apple and Android devices. Those who visit 11 of the 13 breweries will receive a limited-edition commemorative B.I.G. pint glass.

“Nowhere else can you check out so many great local breweries in the Gorge in one spot,” says Double Mountain owner and brewmaster Matt Swihart. “It’s an exciting time after the busy holiday season for our customers to relax and talk one-on-one with both brewers and owners.”
