Oregon beer legend Jim Parker passed away nearly two years ago and was honored by the Oregon Beer Awards as a lifetime achievement inductee into the hall of fame. Parker was a staunch and prolific craft beer advocate who’s career spanned Colorado to Washington, but arguably had the most impact in Oregon where he once served as the original head of the Oregon Brewers Guild. His accomplishments and career path are numerous and legendary, among those stops was as one of the first bartenders and salesmen of the fledgling new Baerlic Brewing Co. in Portland, OR.

Baerlic Brewing credits Parker with helping put their ‘Stubbornly Independent’ self distribution model into a successful business. In Jim’s honor they have brewed up a special tribute beer based on an updated recipe for the first beer Parker brewed professionally over 22 years ago. Jim Parker’s Winter Warmer Holiday Ale is a modern take on the classic English-style winter ales that started the very tradition of these seasonally appropriate releases.

Jim Parker’s Holiday Ale will warm your belly with its 8.5% ABV and tickle your tastebuds with the candied orange, grapefruit and pine flavors and aromas from our favorite northwest grown Columbus, Cascade and Chinook hops.

Baerlic Brewing will be donating 10% of sales of Jim Parker’s Holiday Ale to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation which funds brewing education and scholarships to talented brewers.
