Uptown Beer Co. 2021 Black Saturday Dark Beer Fest
Portland/Beaverton-area beer bar and bottle shop Uptown Beer Co. will celebrate their 5th annual Dark Beer Festival on Saturday, November 27th. The event proves there is something good to be found in darkness, with 20 plus dark beers, many of them barrel-aged. This years lineup features beers from Crux Fermentation Project, Fremont Brewing, Ex Novo Brewing, Firestone Walker Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, Goodlife Brewing, Level Beer, Loowit Brewing, Mazama Brewing, Modern Times Beer, Pelican, pFriem Family Brewers, and Binary Brewing.
“Black Saturday is my favorite event that we put on at Uptown Beer Co and after being forced to make it a take-home event last year, it is fantastic being able to return to an in person experience. We of course will require masks inside for the event, but we’ll have plenty of room for everyone both inside and on our heated beer garden tent. It’s so hard to sit on all of these great dark beers, I get very excited to try each one of them,” explained Uptown Beer Co. Co-owner Joshua Johnson.
The event starts at 6pm and will also showcase burger specials from Sure Shot Burger Shop, one of Portland’s top cheeseburger carts. Tickets are currently on sale at www.uptownbeer.co for $25, which includes commemorative pint glass, stickers and 5 taster tickets, which will also be available the day of the event. Uptown Beer Co. will also open up their Beer Jail, a bottle aging program, which allows for customers to purchase rare bottles and cans that have been cellaring for years, just now prime for tasting.
Uptown Beer Co. is a pub and bottle shop built out of an old convenience store in SW Portland. For 10 years, it has been home to thousands of bottles and cans of the world's best craft beer, wine, and cider with a focus on locally produced beverages. Uptown Beer Co. is also home to BinaryBrewing.co and Sure Shot Burger Shop. Uptown Beer Co. now has an online store where it’s expansive inventory is available for pick-up or delivery anywhere in the Portland metro area.
