Brewmaster game coming to Playstation, Xbox, PC
The joy of homebrewing can now be practiced from your home console gaming or computing system when the Brewmaster beer brewing simulator game launches next year. Even though the thought of learning to homebrew from a video game may seem humorous, Brewmaster appears to have great potential for aspiring or intermediate brewers looking to hone their craft or brush up on their skills. Choose to experience the story-led Brewmaster mode or throw yourself into Creative Mode, a sandbox with everything unlocked.
From perfecting authentic, chemistry-driven brewing techniques to bottling and labeling, and entering competitions, the seemingly realistic game developed by Auroch Digital & Published by Sold Out appears to offer an educational and in-depth beer experience. Home beer apps and brewing devices are nothing new, but an interactive game that both challenges players and improves their skills has potential to be a fun new interactive way to cultivate a new generation of brewers.
Brewmaster is not the first to attempt to turn the art of brewing beer into entertainment, in 2013 FIZ: The Brewery Management game launched for mobile devices and walked players through purchasing ingredients into making beer and learning how to sell it and manage a business. Brewmaster appears to be more focused on recipe construction, utilization and management of ingredients and how those pieces of a beer can change the outcome of a beer based on how they are used and interact with each other.
According to Auroch Digital, the Brewmaster game will lead players to “follow a recipe, or experiment with a huge variety of real-world ingredients to hone your skills. Enter friendly competitions, earn beer tokens, and upgrade your equipment to become an even better brewer.”
The game will walk you through everything from ingredients, to equipment selection, how to mash in and even qualities and treatment of yeast. Brewmaster is a work-in-progress, the game is expected to be released to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch in 2022.
