Last held right as the pandemic was beginning to take hold in the U.S., Portland’s annual women and LGBTQ lead beer festival and homebrew competition SheBrew had to be canceled for 2021. But that hasn’t stopped organizers and the industry from getting together in different ways to show their support for women in the craft beer community. In collaboration with SheBrew there will be 27 different women brewed Oregon beers released this year, a handful of them are available now and the event has announced it will return in 2022 on March 6th.

Migration’s Golden Gaia Belgian Golden Strong Ale in collaboration with Little Beast Brewing. This beer was brewed by the strong women of Migration, Little Beast, and SheBrew to benefit SheBrew.

In the spirit of celebrating women throughout Women’s History Month and the SheBrew project, women across the three organizations and beyond were involved and empowered throughout the whole process. Employees of both breweries named the beer and were on site for the brew. Female owned and operated Meaghan Cahill Art graciously designed and donated the can label, and Imperial Yeast contributed a generous yeast donation.

“SheBrew is the perfect opportunity to invite women from across the company into the brewery and have them involved in the process,” shares Migration Brewing Brewer, Gracie Nelson. “Teaming up with Little Beast Brewing and SheBrew has been such an empowering and enjoyable experience. We have learned so much from one another. Plus, knowing that this beer supports all women and the LGBTQ+ community through SheBrew’s donation to the Human Rights Campaign, made it the perfect way to celebrate Women’s History Month.”

This 7.2% Belgian Golden Strong Ale delivers hints of spicy caraway, honey, and sweet orange citrus. This is a limited release and will be available from both brewery’s pubs on draft and in package right now. Both Migration Brewing and Little Beast Brewing are donating a portion of these beer sales to SheBrew.

Island of Sirens, is a Von Ebert brewed 4.2% ABV Summer Ale dry-hopped with Jasmine Blossoms.

"We wanted to give people a low ABV, medium bodied, crushable beer," explained Maddy McCarthy, assistant brewer, Von Ebert Brewing. "It has notes of herbal honey, citrus marmalade, and alluring flowers. It's perfect for the warmer weather we're heading into. Something to sip on while soaking up the sunshine and delving into a good book."

Island of Sirens is available on draft at both Von Ebert locations, Glendoveer and the Pearl.
