Fort George Brewery gets Fresh (Hop)
Astoria, OR’s Fort George Brewery is planning atleast 4 fresh hop beers this year; Fresh IPA, CoHoperative, Rock Paper Centennial, and Wet Hop Fields of Green. The latter two beers are going up for pre-sale now, while the brewery is putting out the open call for backyard wild hops to use in CoHoperative Ale which gives the public a chance to contribute.
This year Fort George has an abundance of glorious fresh hop beers on the books. This years crop will rely heavily on freshies from PNW providers Roy Farms and Crosby Farms. You can check the online store and pre-order some of this bright, refreshing, summer-farewelling goodness direct to your door in Oregon or Washington. Beer will ship when it is packaged, and the first cans are rolling off the line next week.
ROCK, PAPER, CENTENNIAL: Pale Ale brewed with fresh Centennials
The Rock, Paper, Series allows the brewery to make limited batches that focus the recipe on one ingredient. This year’s release is brewed with freshly picked Centennial hops from our good friends at Crosby Hop Farm. Expect pungent, dank citrus notes with a fresh floral aroma. Anticipated release is mid-September. Best sipped fresh. ABV: 5.5%

This evolving series is an exploration of hop-perceptions, pushing the limits of your lupulin receptors. Each batch is limited and brewed exclusively for the Pacific Northwest. Once a year we are able to brew a wet hop version. For 2021, we chose fresh Strata hops from Crosby Hop Farm. These cones are bursting with tropical fruit & citrus flavors. Anticipated packaging date is late September 2021. Drink as fresh as possible. ABV: 7.6%

Fresh IPA utilizes a concise malt bill to focus your attention on those freshly gathered Northwest hops. Simcoes pack citrus, grapefruit, and stone fruit flavors & aromas into the beer. From the bine, to the can, to your taste buds in just a matter of days. Look for Fresh IPA around the Pacific Northwest in mid-September 2021. ABV: 6.4%
