Matts BBQ Tacos joins Great Notion Brewing

Matt’s BBQ Tacos, the spinoff of the popular acclaimed Texas-style barbecue food truck Matt’s BBQ, is taking their first brick-and-mortar space at Great Notion Brewing’s (GNB) original brewpub location on NE Alberta St. in Portland, Oregon. Matt’s BBQ Taco truck was originally on 32nd and SE Hawthorne, then moved to the new Hinterland Food Cart Pod earlier this year, the new collaboration with Great Notion will be an additional expansion that replaces the current food options at the restaurant pub.

Matt’s BBQ debuted in 2015, with meats smoked for the day on an offset smoker using oak wood, and quickly garnered a fan following and critical acclaim.

Starting with dinner service on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022, Matt’s BBQ will be serving their famous Matt’s BBQ Tacos alongside Great Notion’s Ripe, Blueberry Muffin, Ledge and other beers. Matt’s BBQ Tacos has previously been named Portland’s “Food Cart of the Year”in the Oregonian and Top 10 “Hottest Restaurant in the Country” in Bon Appetit magazine.

“We started talking to Matt about a potential partnership back in 2019 after being monster fans of his Texas BBQ brisket,” said Great Notion CEO Paul Reiter. “We knew we had to find a way to work together and what better way than to offer our customers the best of both worlds!”

Matt’s BBQ Tacos at Great Notion Alberta will serve up the same great Texas BBQ found at the original Matt’s BBQ cart, but on house-made lard-infused flour or vegan corn tortillas pressed and cooked to order. Breakfast and/or meat tacos served all day.

“It’s great to finally work with Great Notion after loving their beers for so long,” said Matt’s BBQ Chef and Owner, Matthew Vicedomini. “Enjoying a breakfast taco with a smoothie beern is going to be such a cool experience for people.”

Hours will be 12-9 Sun-Thurs and 12-10 Fri-Sat with breakfast hours being added on Saturdays and Sundays the weekend of November 12th.
