Level Beer v Crux Fermentation Project collaboration Boss Battle IPA

Level Beer brewers/co-founders Shane Watterson and Jason Barbee were both former brewers at Deschutes Brewery’s Portland Public House under the watchful eye of overall brewmaster Larry Sidor and Cam O’ Connor. Larry went on to found Bend, OR’s Crux Fermentation Project where O’ Connor is now the brewmaster. This sets the stage for a classic team-up that pits Watterson and Barbee against their former bosses at Deschutes with new beer release Level v Crux - Boss Battle IPA.

Boss Battle IPA is releasing this Thursday 3/31 at all Level taprooms with an official release party at Level 3 on NE Sandy the same day. Brewers from both breweries will be there to hang and chat about the beer, and maybe even get down on some video game battlin'! More details below.

Boss Battle IPA

Hops: Meridian, Simcoe, HBC 586

ABV: 7.5%

Tasting notes: Dank with tropical notes of citrus fruit and candied pineapple, with a dry finish and assertive bitterness.

Available on draft and in 16oz 4-packs for $16
