Hood River’s Slopeswell Cider reborn under Working Hands Fermentation banner

Somewhat under-the-radar Hood River, Oregon brewery Working Hands Brewing opened in the Slopeswell Cider production space in 2021 branding their shared taproom ‘The Heights.’ A few years later, the two brands have fully merged under the Working Hands Fermentation banner, and are releasing their first small batch craft cider, “Juice Box” in 16oz cans.

Working Hands is a family-owned and operated business that takes pride in using locally sourced, high-quality ingredients to create their unique ciders. Its commitment to traditional fermentation methods sets them apart from many other cider producers.

"We are excited to introduce our handcrafted cider to the community," said Ellen Woods Potter, Owner, GM, and Cider Maker at Working Hands Fermentation. "Our cider is made using traditional fermentation techniques that give it a complex, rich flavor. We use only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to create a cider that is both delicious and authentic."

Working Hands’ ciders are made from a blend of local apples and juices and fermented with wild yeast. The result is a dry, crisp cider with a subtle body and clean finish that pairs well with a variety of foods.

"We believe that our approach to traditional fermentation techniques sets us apart," said Jon Terhaar, owner and CFO. "We prefer our cider to harken back to the old European styles that have stood the test of time, and our varieties are a nod to the importance of preserving traditional craft methods.”

Working Hands’ cider and beer is currently available for purchase at their local taproom in the Hood River Heights neighborhood as well as various locations around town in both draft and cans.
