Sierra Nevada brings back fan favorite classics in new summer seasonal lineup

After just 2 years, Sierra Nevada Brewing has discontinued their 2021 launched Summer Break hazy IPA and went back to the classic Summerfest lager while testing the waters on the return of some other fan-favorite old school releases. This is great news for fans who were up in arms over Summerfest’s removal from the lineup in favor of new trends. This time Summerfest seems to be back on a trial basis and joined by a full lineup of brand new flavors as well as the nostalgic throwbacks.

Sierra Nevada’s fresh line-up of summer seasonals include 2 all-new Little Things brand family varieties, the return of the beloved Summerfest, and a Fan Favorites Variety Pack of beers demanded by fans and sold collectively for the first time. 

Crisp Little Thing

This easy-drinking lager is perfect for summer and is exclusively available in the Little Things Party Pack. The variety 12-pack of 12-ounce cans also includes Hazy Little Thing (the #1 selling hazy IPA), Sunny Little Thing a citrus wheat ale, and Big Little Thing an imperial IPA. This pack is designed to be a crowd pleaser, with a little something for everyone at the party.  

IBU: 18 ABV: 4.7% Tasting Notes: Designed to be crushable, this beer has premium malts and is easy on the hops, providing a laidback and refreshing taste.  

Availability: Crisp Little Thing is permanently and exclusively available in the Little Things Party Pack, which is a 12pk variety of 12oz cans also including Hazy Little Thing, Sunny Little Thing and Big Little Thing.  

Tropical Little Thing

Earlier this year, Sierra Nevada’s Little Things collection announced the brand’s first limited edition rotating series of Hazy IPAs. The series promises a rotating range of unique and fresh Hazy IPA offerings to satisfy drinkers’ thirst for new, exciting flavor profiles in the category. Tropical Little Thing is the second release in the series, following Juicy Little Thing. Ripe aromas and flavors of mango, papaya, and passion fruit dominate this latest offering in the Limited Hazy IPA rotating series from Sierra Nevada’s Little Things family.  

IBU: 39 ABV: 7.0% Tasting Notes: This IPA features Cascade, SabroTM, SultanaTM, El Dorado and Amarillo hops with two-row pale, Oats, Wheat and Munich malt.  

Availability: Only available May-August 2023. 

Summerfest (limited-edition)

This delicious summer beer is officially back for a limited time! Summerfest is the SPF: “Summer Pilsner Flavor” you need, bursting with crisp pilsner refreshment, hints of lemon zest, and a clean, dry finish. It’s the sessionable taste of summer fans are delighted to see return to shelves for the season.  

IBU: 28 ABV: 5.0% Tasting Notes: This golden bright pilsner encompasses a balancing and delicate, yet complex malt alongside spicy, floral hops. Hints of lemon zest lead into a dry finish.  

Availability: Only available April-July 2023.  

Fan Favorites Pack

This special collection includes four of Sierra Nevada’s most requested “comeback” beers. The brewery collected info from fan inquiries over the last several years and determined that these four were the top, most-requested beers fans wanted to see be re-released. Hence the name, Fan Favorites Pack! The brews in the limited time only pack include Hop Hunter IPA, Ruthless Rye IPA, Nooner Pilsner and Flipside Red IPA. 

• Hop Hunter IPA 

  IBU: 60  ABV: 6.2% 

  Tasting Notes: With a bright hop aroma and flavor, this IPA is bursting with floral and citrus notes. It is delightfully invigorating on the taste buds but goes down smooth.  
  

• Ruthless Rye IPA 

  IBU: 58 ABV: 6.6% 

  Tasting Notes: Rye is prominent in the flavor profile, lending a spicy black-pepper-like flavor for this beer. It is a rugged IPA with fruity, citrus, and herbal hop notes countered by the dry spiciness of the rye.  
  

• Nooner Pilsner 

  IBU: 38 ABV: 5.2% 

  Tasting Notes: This easy drinking pilsner is filled with spicy and floral whole-cone hops. It is refreshing, and hits just right with the level of hoppy bitterness.  

• Flipside Red IPA   

  IBU: 55 ABV: 6.2% 

  Tasting Notes: Ruby-red in color due to the malt, this IPA has a deep malt flavor coupled with huge tropical and citrusy hops.  

Summerfest, Crisp Little Thing and Tropical Little Thing are available now, and with Fan Favorites launching in early June.
