Orenco Taphouse 10-Year Anniversary

Hillsboro, Oregon is a lot better place for craft beer since Orenco Taphouse (1198 NE Orenco Station Pkwy, Hillsboro) opened 10 years ago. To celebrate they have collaborated with new Hillsboro brewery SteepleJack, on a West Coast IPA meant to drink a little light for summer while still preserving a hop presence from Cascade & Citra. Then modernized with HBC 586 which adds nuances of lemon, grapefruit, guava, and mango. Draft and 16oz cans to-go will be available.

Orenco is also pulling out vintage cellared sours from their 5 year with Cascade and Reach Break and other rare and limited releases both new and old. Friday July 14 - Gold Dot Beer and Great Notion Brewing Collaboration releases

Mama Nat - Czech style amber lager collab with Great Notion 5.1%We layered Bohemian and Isaria 1924 pilsner malts from Weyermann along with a splash of Carabohemian malt for a balance of light and dark to create a beautiful copper amber color. We treated the beer with a rigorous step mash regiment before a light decoction process to give Mama Nat a rich and toasty malt character that really shines in this beer. Czech Saaz and Kazbek hops balance the malt presence with just enough herbal and spice notes along with a hint of black currant.

Jeanne - Pale Ale collab with Gold Dot 5.8%
Jeanne is a wonderful little pale ale with ‘C’lassic pale ale ingredients. This 5.8% beer was made with Crisp pale malt, Chinook incognito, and Chinook, Cascade, and Citra hop pellets. It was fermented with one of our favorite yeast strains, Chico. We can’t say this beer isn’t gonna be a charmingly crisp crusher. This beer has a light and dry body with just enough sweet malt character to balance out the pleasant bitterness you look for in a pale ale. With notes of orange marmalade, grapefruit pith, and inviting pine resin it’ll have you coming back for another and another.
