Binary Brewing One-Year Anniversary Party

Beaverton, Oregon’s craft beer scene is blowing up, but for all of the expansions and new locations there is still only ONE that is publicly open and homegrown- Binary Brewing. This Saturday, July 22nd is the one year anniversary celebration for Binary at their old Beaverton former bakery location just blocks from the new downtown food and drink corridor. Binary plans an array of all ages activities for the party. An exclusive Anniversary beer will also be brewed and released at the event.

After long delays due to permitting and COVID restrictions, BinaryBrewing.co was finally able to open their brand new facility in the historic Beaverton Bakery in July of 2022. Prior to the Bakery location, Binary had been brewing out of a tiny space on the side of Uptown Beer Co. in SW Portland. Demand grew and Binary signed on with a distributor, prompting a major upgrade: it was time to size up.

The old Beaverton Bakery was ideal in both size and location for Binary. The complete renovation of the building boasts a state of the art 10bbl brewery visible from the bar, ample seating area, and dog-friendly patio. Twelve rotating taps pour Binary flagships, collaboration beers, as well as small batch experimental beers brewed on a 5 gallon pilot system. Binary’s full, from-scratch kitchen sources local ingredients for their menu featuring a smash burger, cheese curds, and various other pub fare items.

As a newer addition to the growing neighborhood, Binary continues to build exposure and develop itself as Beaverton’s only operating brewery. The last year at the new pub has seen fundraisers, block parties, live music, beer releases, and countless other events.

“We’ve always enjoyed being a part of the larger Portland beer community, but it has been really fun to get to be a part of a blossoming Downtown Beaverton community,” explains Joshua Johnson, Managing Partner of BinaryBrewing.co., “Getting to build a custom brewhouse and pub from the ground was really satisfying, but nowhere near as satisfying as the great beer and pub community we are creating with it.” Head Brewer and Co-Founder, Roger Wood, says, “I can’t believe it’s been a year! We’re very excited to see what the future holds. Cheers to more beers!”

For the Anniversary Party, BinaryBrewing.co will be utilizing the outdoor space behind their building for the first time. The “backyard barbecue” style party will feature grilling, games, and live music by DJ Velvet Ginger. Head Brewer, Roger Wood, will be guiding brewery tours. BinaryBrewing.co’s first IPA done on the new system, Broadway IPA, will be rebrewed and released especially for the event. Come celebrate one year in Beaverton with us!

BinaryBrewing.co is the brainchild of a team led by Roger Wood and Joshua Johnson. Wood, a retired Product Management Executive and Johnson, managing partner of Uptown Beer Co. melded together their love of technology and craft beer to create a brewery focused on simple classic beer styles. Brewing, like software coding, is a language. Binary creates digital universes from 1s and 0s. BinaryBrewing.co’s brews aim to create deep flavor from a nigh-infinite spectrum of hop and malt combinations.
