Migration Brewing’s Rooftop at the Canvas reopens

Migration Brewing’s seasonal pop-up taproom the Rooftop at Canvas is reopening starting today, Thursday, July 13th. Last year the rooftop bar - named one of Portland’s best patios - ended it’s seasonal run early and was not planned to return. Thankfully things have changed, and the mostly outdoors taproom on the 9th floor of the Urban Renaissance Group’s Canvas building in southwest Portland next to Providence Park, is back for the summer until early fall atleast.  The popular beer bar will be serving up fresh, award-winning draft beer plus plenty of packaged beverage options from 2pm – 10pm, Thursday through Sunday.  The 2,000sf penthouse patio boasts incredible views of the city in a secure, state of the art commercial building that looks over Providence Park Stadium.

Migration Brewing joins shoe design company Hoka, in the Canvas building. Completed in 2020, the contemporary, nine story high-rise is Phase I of the development project on the former Oregonian printing facilities site. The rooftop beer bar concept came back to life through an ongoing partnership with Urban Renaissance Group and the desire to provide craft beer lovers with an unforgettable Portland experience.

As craft beer trends continue to evolve in a rapidly changing environment, Migration continues to seek out innovative retail projects.  “We’re excited to get the Rooftop back in action.  This will be our third summer at the Canvas building, and it’s always been one of our most popular pop-up projects,” says CEO and Co-Founder McKean Banzer-Lausberg.  “As a company we really value local partnerships and have always enjoyed working with Urban Renaissance Group.  This will be a truly unique craft beer experience,” states Banzer-Lausberg.

The Rooftop at Canvas will have seating capacity for approximately 75 people and will be operating through September.  Beer, wine and hard cider will be served (no minors allowed).  The Canvas building is located at 1750 SW Yamhill Street, Portland, OR 97205.
