The OC’s Everywhere Beer opens Portland taproom
Everywhere has chosen somewhere in Portland, Oregon to open their second location and first outside of their home state of California at 920 SE Caruthers. The location may be oddly familiar as the home of Day One Distribution and the recently closed Chuckanut Brewery Portland taproom.
Everywhere Beer is bringing a fresh slice of Orange County with the flavor you might imagine from the area that inspired such pop culture hits as The OC. But Everywhere Beer is not just about the beaches, theme parks, and citrus, they bring with them an established pedigree as all 4 founders are alumnus from Placentia, California’s iconic The Bruery fame. Among Everywhere Beer’s claims to fame are some of the highest accolades in beer: 2024 Great American Beer Festival Brewery and Brewer of the Year (1,000-2,000 Barrels), and a gold-medal winner in the Juicy or Hazy India Pale Ale category at the 2025 World Beer Cup. These are all-time great accomplishments for any brewery, even more impressive when considering Everywhere Beer is only 3 years old.

Everywhere Beer made a splash in Oregon last Spring, when they launched a blitz upon beer bars and taprooms with their cans and draft appearing in hotspots from Eugene to Portland thanks to Day One Distribution. Everywhere Beer was the featured brewery pop-up at Function PDX’s taproom/events space for the month in June 2024.
If you never visited the Chuckanut P-Nut Taproom, you were missing a bright but cold space minimally decorated with memorabilia barely obscuring the rooms previous use as an office space. The terrific Chuckanut lagers were delivered in a vaguely German beer hall setting with larger tables and more of an ordering counter then a bar. Everywhere Beer has wisely overhauled the space to utilize the long narrowish space with a real bar seating area and emphasis on colorful and bright So-Cal vibes.
The former counter-style beer window at Chuckanut and its partial wall has been removed to open up a centerpiece taphall layout with a cool blue tiled back bar sporting 20 draft lines. Everywhere Beer makes far more than beer, like a colorful and opaque lineup of bright or thick hard seltzers, spritz, and slushies that would feel right at home at a poolside hotel bar next to the OC’s Disneyland Resort or Knott’s Berry Farm. Currently they are pouring some wild and playful stuff like the Banantha Milk, a Star Wars inspired Tattoine-style hard seltzer with coconut cream, banana, cacao, and blue spirulina; Jamaica Lemonade, agua fresca-style seltzer with hibiscus and lemon; Cucumber Calamansi Limeade agua fresca-style seltzer with cucumber and calamansi key lime; Painkiller super fruited seltzer with coconut cream, pineapple, and orange, spices; Every Other Day sparkling spritz with grenache & syrah grapes served from a slushy machine.
Beer nerds that crave perfectly executed examples of lagers and IPAs will find lots to love as well, though dark beer or malt-lovers will be disappointed. The opening draft list is sectioned into Light-Ish Beer, Hoppy Beer, Sour-ish beer, seltzers & spritzers, and guest taps. The hopheads will find equal parts hazy and west Coast, sessionable pale ale, and big double-dry hopped imperial-sized as well. We were pleased to find they offer 2 beers on side-pull Czech Lukr faucets and have a terrific German-style Helles lager called Beautiful Something, a Czech pale lager called Deep Breaths, also on the lighter and quaffable end of the spectrum a guest tap of Kolsch, and currently a Mexican-style lager. And if you enjoy a splash of fruit in your beer but don't want to go full alternative beverage, check out the radler-esque grapefruit infused version of the helles Community Garden #15, or the spring sour ale Tomorrows Bloom with blueberry, pineapple, passion fruit, and cara cara orange.
Taking full advantage of the windows and high ceilings of the space they have complimented the natural lighting with drop down orb fixtures so it always feels like summertime no matter how gritty and glum it is outside. Everywhere has decorated with splashes of playful child-like illustrations and pops of saturated pink flowers and tropical plants. There is an adult playground feel in the tone, driven home by the beverages and cartoons playing from a projector that may make you feel like you have just been dropped off at the best after school daycare.
As of opening this Friday, May 16th, Everywhere Beer offers their own packaged beer to-go but no food options. There is outside uncovered seating for nice days, and street parking. The taproom is also just a few blocks from Tri-Met bus stops, a MAX Line stop, and other notable craft beer destinations The Beermongers and Baerlic Brewing.
Everywhere Beer Portland opens at 4pm on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 920 SE Caruthers St A, Portland, OR 97214. No word yet on what the days/hours going forward will be.
