Breakside Brewery reveals 2024 beer release calendar with freshened up lineup

Portland and Milwaukie, Oregon based Breakside Brewery has announced their 2024 beer release plans for new year-round offerings and brand new series that will keep the lineup fresh. 2024 includes plans for more 19.2oz cans, and a new beer offered exclusively in that packaging format (and draft), and a draft-only stout for dark beer lovers that love a malt forward expression. To keep things interesting, Breakside will expand its rotating series of IPA’s and Lagers (8 beers each!) while also continuing releasing various small-batch pub beers throughout the year.

Ben Edmunds, brewmaster for Breakside Brewery, said, “we’re planning an exciting lineup for 2024 that includes lots of new canned beers, collaborations with friends from around the country, and a more West Coast IPA than you can shake a stick at. Despite whatever headwinds there are in the beer market right now, we are more committed than ever to producing a wide-ranging, changing, and delicious set of beers every day. If you love great beer, we’ve got you.”

Some highlights that are on the horizon for 2024 include:

● Year-Round Series Changes: 19.2oz Cans, will be introduced in 2024 in the following brands – Wanderlust IPA, Breakside IPA and Breakside Pilsner along with two new beers – Double Wanderlust IPA and Luz Natural – A Mexican-Style Lager. All other formats remain in the year-round lineup for Breakside IPA, Wanderlust IPA, Portland’s IPA, What Rough Beast, Pilsner, Breakside White, Rainbows & Unicorns, True Gold and Stay West IPA.

● Luz Natural is the latest addition to Breakside’s year-round lineup (the last addition was Breakside White.) Luz is Breakside’s take on a classic pale Mexican-style lager. Brewed with Northwest-grown two row malt, a grip of Canadian-grown Pilsner malt, and real flaked corn to give the beer a light body and crisp finish. Luz Natural is available now in 19.2oz cans and draft.

● Breakside will also introduce Black Swift Stout to its year-round Draft-Only lineup.

● Seasonal Expansion – More Beers / More often: The brewery’s rotating lineup will expand in both the IPA series and Lager Series. New beers are planned for every six to eight weeks – including first time canning runs for some very successful pub beers and some brand new recipes.

● The current release in Breakside’s rotating IPA series is Thriving Metropolis, a revisit of a West Coast IPA collaboration with Ghost Town Brewing in Oakland. This time Breakside will release three different versions in the coming months and changing the dry hop each batch. Batch 1 has been layered with choice lots of Cashmere, Nelson Sauvin and HBC 586 to go along with the base Cryo Simcoe. You’ll find notes of dried apricot, lime, strawberry, Hawaiian punch, and pineapple whip with a soft, just-so bitterness in the finish. Thriving Metropolis is available now in 16oz cans and draft.

● Barrel-Aged Stout Series: Now in it’s 4 th year – Breakside’s barrel-aged stout series returns with another six beers. To kick off 2024, it will introduce Frostitita – An Imperial Oatmeal Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels. These beers are limited so get them while they last.
