Raise a Glass: Northwest Cider Cup Awards Party Returns June 26 in Portland
Winners To Be Announced at Ceremony in Portland
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, cider lovers and makers will gather in SE Portland to celebrate the very best of Northwest craft cider at the Northwest Cider Cup Awards Party. Representing Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and British Columbia, this annual event unveils the top-scoring ciders from North America’s most competitive cider competition.
Now in its 12th year, the Northwest Cider Cup is the most rigorous cider competition in North America, spotlighting the finest creations from the largest apple-growing region. Trained judges evaluate each entry based on appearance, aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel, setting the gold standard for quality and style.
“The Northwest Cider Cup is that once-a-year chance to sip the best of the Northwest, rub elbows with the makers, and raise a glass to cider done right,” says Emily Ritchie of the Northwest Cider Association (NWCA), the trade nonprofit that coordinates the event.
The event brings together dozens of respected judges for a rigorous training followed by a day of blind tasting. Award winners will be posted on nwcider.com/northwest-cider-cup/ following the event. Be among the first to taste a curated lineup of award-winning ciders—revealed the moment they’re crowned. Expect rare pours, limited releases and exclusive sips.
