Baerlic Brewing celebrates 11th Anniversary

Baerlic Brewing is officially over the double-digit milestone and into their second decade as they get ready to celebrate their 11th anniversary this Saturday, June 28th at their 2239 SE 11th Avenue brewery in Portland, Oregon.

Baerlic founder Rik Hall and Ben Parsons took a former Kettleman Bagel Co. outpost and transformed it into a brewery and intimate taproom in 2014. Amazing that these craft beer industry first timers would achieve such success to become a local Portland favorite with 3 locations in the city and a lot to celebrate.

During the early days of the pandemic in 2020 the Baerlic Brewing team leased the recently vacated sports bar next door to them and opened the Baerlic Beer PieHall with an expansive seating, covered patio park let, and a small kitchen operated by Ranch Pizza. Hardcore fans will also remember the Baerlic Super Secret Beer Garden which during the pandemic ban on indoor seating repurposed a parking lot on the other side of their building to become an outdoor drinking establishment and a popular community gathering spot when it was difficult to gather at all. From Baerlic staff’s unofficial uniform of cut off jean jackets to the brewery’s commitment to self-distributing all of their beers

“Each year we take our time to reflect on what we have built, and what we still want to achieve. This year has culminated in some exciting victories, highlighted by Punk Rock Time IPA winning Gold at the International Beer & Cider Awards followed up by taking home the Golden Keg at the lighthearted celebration of our local brewers at the 2025 Brewers Games organized by Pink Boots,” says Baerlic Brewing GM, David Belcher. “We like to have fun, we are humbled when we get acknowledged for all the hard work and care we bring everyday, and we can’t wait to celebrate another year with our incredible community.”
