Sierra Nevada Brewing releases Springfest IPA in ever rotating Q1 seasonal slot

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has introduced a new seasonal called Springfest IPA. Using classic hop varieties Centennial hops, Citra® and CTZ lupulin promises Springfest IPA bright flavors and aromas of citrus blossom overlaid on sustainably sourced barley.

The new first quarter Q1 seasonal from the Chico, California based brewery fills a space in the calendar that has constantly rotated looking for a mainstay to fill the slot between Celebration IPA and Summer fest lager. Sierra Nevada introduced Powder Day IPA as their Q1 seasonal in 2022 and it lasted through 2023, in 2024 they replaced it with Hop Bullet Magnum IPA, and then in 2025 it was Hop Tropical IPA.

Sierra Nevada’s current seasonal lineup is as follows:

  • Q1 - Springfest IPA

  • Q2/Q3 - Summerfest Lager

  • Q3 - Oktoberfest collaboration

  • Q4 - Celebration Fresh Hop IPA

“Harvest season tends to get most of the celebratory fanfare when it comes to beer’s agricultural ties, but there’s so much more to celebrate about quality beer ingredients,” said Brian Grossman, Chief Brewer and second-generation brewery owner at Sierra Nevada. “Springfest IPA represents the energy and excitement of the beginning of a new cycle of seeding, cultivation and growth. This beer celebrates the farmers and agricultural community that play such a pivotal role in our craft, and who work with passion and attention to detail year-round to produce the finest quality, purest ingredients.”

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. deeply values land conservation and sustainable practices. As part of the company’s Hop Forward initiative, a set of self-imposed sustainability targets to achieve by 2030, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has committed to sourcing half of its total beer ingredients through sustainable farming by the end of the decade. Springfest IPA is an example of that commitment in action with its organic hops and sustainably sourced barely.
