Do you remember when students would put an apple on the teachers desk as a sign of respect and appreciation? At the new virtual Cider School, they put one on yours.
With beer sales on the decline, it's hard cider that is posting gains year-over-year for the past 3 years with growth led by regional brands overtaking national brands back in 2023. Per capita Oregon sells more cider than any state in the nation, with Washington coming in a close second.
This is an awesome opportunity for Pacific Northwest cidermakers, orchardists, and anyone looking to get into the business to capitalize on their growing popularity by going back to school...
Thanks to a grant from Western Extension Risk Management Education Center, the Portland-based Northwest Cider Association has launched Cider School, a new professional development program designed to help cideries and orchards strengthen their businesses through practical risk management education.
Running a cidery or orchard means making big decisions every day. From managing your finances and protecting your crop to reaching customers and taking care of yourself and your team, there’s always something new to navigate.
Cider School is a new learning experience for cidermakers and orchardists, designed to give you practical tools and expert guidance to make important business decisions with greater confidence.
Cider School brings together four ways to learn and get support: five expert-led online workshops, one-on-one financial consulting, a peer learning community and bring it all together in-person at @nwcider Cider Symposium in Tacoma, Washington on March 16, 2027.
Workshops are accessible live or archived and are FREE for Northwest Cider Association members and only $50 for non-members.
