De Garde Brewing unleashes their largest anniversary invitational festival yet
De Garde Brewing owners Trevor and Linsey Rogers
With many large-scale beer events pulling back and contracting Oregon’s sour power De Garde Brewing is expanding their 13th anniversary with their largest festival yet on May 2nd 2026.
Since their earlier days at the Tillamook air field, De Garde Brewing has been throwing killer events for lovers of saisons, farmhouse and funky beers and time-intensive sour fruit beers and interesting hybrids. When de Garde moved to their current location at 114 Ivy Ave, Tillamook in downtown Tillamook the celebration followed as a block party-style event. But then in 2023 de Garde pulled out all the stops for their milestone 10th anniversary, taking over the events venue in Garibaldi for an epic party overlooking the Miami Cover. In many respects that was a great event from an attendee perspective, but I more than once heard de Garde co-founder lament the incredible amount of work that went into pulling off an event outside of town where everything needed to be brought in with little infrastructure for an event but a grassy knoll and a tent. For a moment, I thought that would be de Garde’s final big anniversary event but have happily been proven wrong.
For the second year de Garde Brewing’s anniversary will be held at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds just a 5 minute drive from the brewery but with plenty of space, indoor and outdoor areas, parking for days, and on-site camping options. Over their 13 years of operation, de Garde has made many friends in the industry. This event draws on many of those relationships to bring people and breweries together from across the globe.
“It's admittedly an absurd proposition for a brewery as small as ours to attempt,” admits de Garde co-owner Trevor Rogers. “But, we've succeeded in the past, and we know that this will be the biggest and best iteration for attendees. Clearly, beer-centric events need to offer more. We've done so in prior years, but are raising the stakes this year. More food. More music. More space.”
Leaning on their history of hosting large events and new familiarity with their second time at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds should provide for an unmatched guest experience with some major improvements:
Expedited entry: Early in-person check-in option on Friday at the de Garde tasting room (coinciding with a collaboration release event featuring multiple other breweries). You can check-in early on Friday and skip any line at the event. Just show your ID and wristband and walk in. They’ll also have more people working at the entry to expedite access for anyone who couldn't utilize the early check-in option.
Food: de Garde has always had a deep respect for locally sourced and high quality food, but this year they are taking up the anniversary festival food options up a couple notches by partnering with some true rock stars: Kachka, Lil’ Barbeque, JAndy Oyster Co., Country Squire, Garibaldi Portside Bistro, and Fornax Pizza.
Music: Four great bands offering a diversity of music that would cost you more than an invitational ticket to see this lineup at any number of music venues: Laurie Shook & Niko Slice of Shook Twins, Forty Feet Tall, Golden Promise, and Growing Pains.
Lodging and transportation: Tillamook County Fairgrounds is offerring affordable camping at the event site. You can book a spot on the 13th anniversary festival Eventbrite ticketing page for a camping space with or without power and you would be staying just steps from the event. De Garde is also working with Transportation District on options to and from the event to supplement taxi and ride-share options and designated driver tickets for those staying off-site.
The main attraction is the 65+ fan-favorite breweries from across the whole damn world that will be sending extra-special beer to share at the event along with de Garde’s own specialty offerings, with many of the breweries attending in person. Expect a surplus of draft and bottle pouring stations to keep lines short.
With a lineup of beers and breweries this deep its almost impossible to process and parse the options…so we asked Trevor to:
“Oh man... That's an intensely personal choice. It's also early days, as we're waiting on the final selections from some of the confirmed guest breweries,” says Trevor Rogers.
”If you're into ginormous stouts, I'd say that 'Dark Lord; Marshmallow Handjee' and vintage 'Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Lord' from one of our newest event attendees, the legendary 3 Floyds Brewing, would be very exciting. Amongst a plethora of other options, of course.”
“For wild ales? Our friends at Cantillon are again sending a variety of awesome options that'll be pouring throughout the event on multiple taps, including a very special anniversary 'gift',' and some of the perhaps lesser known breweries that we bring in for the event like Métaphore have made an incredible impression on both us and attendees in the past.”
“For hoppier beers, I couldn't even begin...
“I'm personally extra-extra-excited for some of our collaborations (both wild and non-wild) that'll be released at the Friday early check-in as well as at the event (some available in bottles and cans to-go as well as on draft): Nebuleous, Sante Adairius, Side Project, Brujos, Ruse, Obelisk, Podere la Berta, ColdFire, etc...”
On Sunday, May 3rd, de Garde is hosting ‘The Afterparty’ at their tasting room from 11am-5pm. There will be a selection of great beer from both de garde as well as guest breweries, and a special menu from the onsite food cart ‘Country Squire.’
“We believe that we can best support our craft and industry as well as our community by showcasing and celebrating it in a big and positive way. This is our attempt to do so, and to do some good beyond what we need. Providing a great experience builds and supports our community,“ says Trevor Rogers.
