Fort George Brewing introduces new year-round beer ‘Island Towns’ tropical IPA

Astoria, Oregon’s Fort George Brewery is introducing a new year-round beer to their core lineup - Island Towns. It’s a bright and aromatic tropical West Coast IPA available in 12oz cans/6-packs and draft, but not to be confused with an earlier iteration of the beer with the same name and label.

Astoria might not technically be an island but it sure can feel like an island sometimes. Not the lonely, isolated John Donne sort of island (that no man is), but a cheerful, welcoming, community-rich island. Astoria is surrounded by water on three sides, diverse and ecologically unique with their own culture and custom.

Like the town it was brewed in, Island Towns isn’t just a summer destination. This Tropical West Coast IPA is lush, a little sweet, and perfect for activities in any season.

If the name of the beer and the label art by Jesse LeDoux seem familiar, it’s because a similar beer with the same name and art was first released in September 2025 as a one-off in 16oz cans. However, that earlier version of Island Towns was a collaboration with Seattle Indie Rock Band, Minus the Bear, for the 20th anniversary of their album Menos el Oso. That version of Island Times wasn’t tropical, had a different recipe formulation, and included spruce tips.

The new Island Towns is brewed with a mix of cutting edge, fruit-forward hops like Superdelic and the bold, citrus-y West Coast flavor of Citra and Chinook. Modern brewing science and warm Sandy beaches, ripe tropical fruit on the breeze and a refreshing citrus breeze off the Pacific - it’s a brand new, year-round Tropical West Coast IPA from Fort George.

Hops: Superdelic, Citra, Chinook, Mosaic, Citra Cryo

Malts: Rahr to Thee, 2-Row, Dextrin, Acidulated

ABV: 6.5%
