Bend Brewing Co. releases 3 Fresh Hop Beers
Bend Brewing Company of Bend, Oregon will release three different fresh hop beers this year. Fresh Trop Fresh Hop IPA will be brewed in two different versions and a brand new draft-only fresh hop beer called Strata Fresh Pale Ale will join them.
A fresh hop version of their flagship Tropic Pines IPA, the Fresh Trop Fresh Hop IPA will come in two different versions each highlighting a fresh single hop. The first features Simcoe hops added at over 10 lbs per barrel from Woodburn, Oregon’s BC Farms. Fresh Trop Simcoe will be available in 16 oz cans and draft from the Bend Brewing Co. pub on Friday September 18th before heading out to Bigfoot Beverages and Running Man Distribution the next week for limited availability throughout Oregon.
Fresh Trop Mosaic is this years alternate version but instead of Simcoe it features 10 lbs per barrel of fresh Mosaic hops from Coleman Farms in Independence, OR. 16oz cans and draft will be released on October 2nd at the pub and hitting distribution after that.
And brand new for 2020 is Strata Fresh Pale Ale. A classic pale ale malt base and single hopped with 180 lbs of fresh Strata hops from Crosby Hop Farm. Strata Fresh will be draft only and on tap at the Bend Brewing brewpub on Friday September 18 with very limited distribution the following week.
Bend Brewing Company’s annual Fresh Hops on the Pond event will not happen this year due to COVID-19. But instead the brewpub will have select fresh hop beers from other central Oregon brewers on tap alongside the 3 BBC fresh hop beers from October 2-4. Social distancing and cleaning protocols will be in place.
