The Portland Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest returns for the 2020 hop harvest season featuring a wide rotating selection of draft beer fills for mason jars or growlers to-go. Like most beer events that are still taking place during the pandemic, the Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest will focus on a takeout model while still showcasing the finest bounty of the season with limited edition beers from Oregon and Washington. (Full disclosure: I founded this event in 2015.)

Taking place September 23rd through October 4th, the Portland Fresh Hop Pop-Up Beer Fest will be rotating dozens of fresh hop beers at two locations: Bloodbuzz at the Prost! Marketplace (4233 N Mississippi Ave) and sister pub Interurban Tavern just one block away (4057 N Mississippi Ave). All beers will be available in 32oz or 64oz mason jars or growler fills to-go and pints may be enjoyed on premises once patrons are seated.

“While this year has presented challenges at every corner, we really want to preserve the moments we look forward to every year, even if it might look a little different,” says Prost!, Bloodbuzz and Interurban Tavern owner Dan Hart.

All patrons will be expected to wear a mask, observe proper social distancing guidelines, and only enjoy beer on site when seated. Both Interurban and the Prost! Marketplace have a variety of takeout food options so that fresh hop fans can pick up lunch or dinner along with their beer.

“This years pop-up is not what we were planning for, but it’s great to be able to pour people fresh hop beers that are really meant to be enjoyed on draft, even if they have to take it to go,” says Fresh Hop Pop-Up founder Ezra Johnson-Greenough.

This year's hand selected batch of Fresh Hop beers will come from Oregon breweries like: Great Notion, Breakside Brewery, Ruse Brewing, Fort George, Modern Times, Baerlic, Upright, Zoiglhaus, Ex Novo and Double Mountain. Washington breweries in the lineup include Single Hill Brewing, Reuben’s Brews, Fremont Brewing, Matchless Brewing,Trap Door, Loowit and more. Expect more breweries to be added to the list as beers become available and updated on social media.

“Beer lovers wait anxiously for fresh releases from their favorite breweries, hop varietals, and fresh hop versions of iconic brews, so we are stoked to be able to offer a wide range of them at one location,“ says Dan Hart.
