Culmination Brewing Teams with Doug Fir Lounge on Black Lime Kolsch Ale
Culmination Brewing has teamed up with popular Portland music venue Doug Fir Lounge on a new beer for summer nights--Green Room Black Lime Kolsch Ale. ccording to a statement, the Doug Fir wanted a crisp, refreshing, beer to pair with its new seasonal dinner menu, happy hour and late nights on the patio, and, of course, for a show in the downstairs venue.More from a press release:Culmination offered up the idea to brew a classic Kolsch Ale the the update of adding Black Lime Leaf and Zest. Kolsch grains and fruity yeast character are present and highlighted by a subtle herbaceous and thai aromas. The name Green Room Black Lime Kolsch Ale, is inspired by the many a tallboys chugged backstage at Doug Fir. The cold, light, canned beer in the ice bucket backstage is a staple of the band’s green room experience, but the team wanted to add a bit of class and local flavor to this treasured moment with the collaborative release.The 16oz Tallboy can is wrapped with 100% recyclable label designed by Culmination’s in-house designer Marcelo Fontana. He featured classic show posters from Doug Fir’s rich musical history in the background of each of the 4 distinct labels.Culmination Brewing Co. was founded in 2015 by Tomas Sluiter. That year the brewery received top billing in Beer Advocates Class of 2015: 33 Best New Breweries in America. In February of 2016, Culmination was awarded Best New Brewery at the Oregon Beer Awards.
