The Abbey Bar & Bottleshop Closes NW 23rd Location

Northwest Portland's The Abbey Bar & Bottleshop has long been one of the few good places in town to find a reliably good selection of real Belgian beers. In early 2016 they opened a second location with a larger bottle selection on NW 23rd avenue and now just two years later we have learned they have closed.Management quietly has removed the NW 23rd location's facebook listing and most mentions of it off of their website with no mentions of it's closure anywhere except for a sign on the front door shown below, and spotted by a New School reader/tipster. The Abbey Bar and Bottleshop has not yet responded to our inquiries to comment upon the closure by the time this article was published. The Abbey Bar & Bottleshop at 1650 NW 23rd Ave, Portland OR 97209 is the closed location but they still have the original, small pub at 716 NW 21st Ave Portland, OR 97209.
