PublicHouse Grand Opening and Oktoberfest Party
One of the most exciting new beer bars to open in Oregon is holding an Oktoberfest and ribbon cutting ceremony for PublicHouse in Springfield's Grand Opening Party on Friday, September 21st. Springfield Mayor Christine Lundberg will perform the ribbon cutting at this renovated church and community hub by pouring the first pint at 4 p.m.

This spring, PublicHouse took over the First Christian Church building at 418 A Street in downtown Springfield, formerly home to Sprout. Colby Phillips and Patric Campbell (of Eugene’s Tap & Growler and Beergarden) teamed up with Drawn Agency and other local investors to breathe fresh life into the space, converting the church’s nave into a Beer Hall with divine ambience, complete with gem-like stained glass windows and an altar from which the local brews floweth.
A brand new loft space, available for private parties, overlooks the Beer Hall. With a long, banquet-style table that seats up to 22 people and standing room for up to 35, The Loft is perfect for group events and even business meetings. An airy, outdoor Arbor Bar and Whiskey Lab are just steps away, adjacent to several food vendors.
"We feel like this is one of the most unique pubs in the area,” Phillips says. “Three different bars and four food vendors, which are all independently owned, really help to establish a great community feel and provide a good variety of options and experience for customers."
"We're proud of the job that Andrew Muckerman and Stonewood Construction have done with the build-out, as well as the craftsmanship of the custom tables and woodworking, which Andrew did with his own woodworking business, Mataus Designs. Andrew has worked seamlessly with the great design team at Drawn Agency to pull off creating this inviting, public gathering place."
PublicHouse’s Oktoberfest will feature traditional Bavarian fare from Pig and Turnip, a German-inspired eatery located on-site. The Beer Hall will have several German and seasonal Oktoberfest beers on tap for the occasion, and one-liter, German-style steins will be available for purchase. There will be live music throughout the night. The entertainment schedule is as follows:
4 - 6 The Roseburg German Band, a traditional German Oompah band
6 - 6:15 A stein holding competition, a traditional Bavarian strength competition
6:15 - 8 Corwin Bolt and the Wingnuts, a ragtime & blues-inspired country band
8 - 10 The Firestarters, a rock band
