Buoy Beer Announces Comet Single Hop IPA, New Zealand Pilsner and Winter Menu
Astoria, Oregon's Buoy Beer Co. is introducing the latest in its seasonal rotating single hop IPA series - Comet Single Hop IPA. Sometimes referred to as a lower alpha acid version of Citra, the Comet hop is known for zesty grapefruit and tangerine with grassy and herbal qualities. Buoy Comet Single Hop IPA will be hitting shelves in bottles later this month throughout Oregon and southern Washington.
Buoy Beer's single hop IPA series began in Spring 2015, using a balanced malt base in each rotating release to allow a singular expression of each varieties unique aromas, flavors and bitterness. Comet hop has been around since 1974 and has only recently become popular again.
Buoy Brewers have made 20 renditions of the Single Hop IPA to date. Check out the list on Untappd.
Good On Ya - New Zealand PilsnerThis dry-hopped pilsner was brewed in the syle of a classic German pilsner but hopped exclusively with hops from New Zealand. Motueka hops lead the way with Southern Cross and Pacifica lending their support during the boil, and Wai-iti joins Motueka and Pacifica in the dry-hop. Lemon-lime, orange, light spicy and herbal notes. A dry, crisp, refreshing taste.
