McMenamins 2019 Lord of Misrule takes inspiration from Girl Scout Cookies

Mcmenamins Lord of Misrule 2019

McMenamin's Lord of Misrule barrel-aged Imperial Stout is an ever changing annual release that takes on a different form each year. Brewed as an extra strong milk stout base beer, the 2019 version is infused with the flavors of a Samoa Girl Scout cookie.

Lord of Misrule is the 16th beer highlighted on our daily barrel-aged beer advent calendar with a new feature each day leading up to Christmas, view the rest here.

Brewed each year since 2014 for the Holiday Ale Festival, Lord of Misrule has taken on many forms - last year a ginger cookie inspired ale. For 2019, the brewers added coconut, marshmallow and graham cracker to make it taste more like the cult favorite Girl Scout cookie.

McMenamins is one of the only breweries in the state that also makes its own whiskey. The company diversification allows the brewery to age Lord of Misrule in its own barrels, which previously held Hogshead Whiskey.

2019 Lord of Misrule has aromas of chocolate, caramel and coconut with the toffee, oak and spicy notes of whiskey barrels. 500ml bottles of Lord of Misrule are $9 and available at most McMenamins gift shops and the 23rd Ave. Bottle Shop in NW Portland.
