The Bruery hosts Virtual Master Class with Top Chef Winners on Beer, Food & Wine

Orange County, California's The Bruery is going online for a master class on the relationship between food, beer and wine. This Thursday, April 23, 2020, The Bruery® team including founder Patrick Rue will be on youtube with special guests "Top Chef" winner and Food Network’s “Tournament of Champions” winner, Chef Brooke Williamson, Winemaker Andrew Murray of Andrew Murray Vineyards, and “Top Chef” season 3 finalist, Chef Casey Thompson. You can watch the live stream at www.youtube.com/thebruery.

More from a press release:

The Bruery and Chef Brooke Williamson first teamed up for a duo of collaborative beers back in 2018 with Girl Grey and Kyuri Dragon. Officially beginning her career at the young age of 17, Williamson was the youngest chef to ever cook at the James Beard House, and was recently a winner on The Food Network’s culinary “Tournament of Champions.” Williamson is the Co-Owner and Co-Chef, along with husband Nick Roberts, of Hudson House in Redondo Beach, The Tripel and Playa Provisions in Playa del Rey, the culinary retail boutique Tripli-Kit, Da Kikokiko in Playa Vista, and Small Batch, an artisanal ice cream shop, in Mar Vista, CA.

Patrick Rue, the founder of The Bruery, will also be joining the special guests. One of just 16 individuals to earn the title of Master Cicerone®, he believed that working with an expert chef to create a unique collaboration ale would not only intrigue craft beer drinkers throughout the country but also introduce a new generation of beer drinkers to cutting-edge flavors and new styles of beer.

Also joining the live stream is Andrew Murray, who fell in love with the emerging Rhône varieties, Syrah and Viognier, in the late 1980s while traveling through France’s Rhône Valley. Leaving his UC Berkeley paleontology studies behind, he pursued his new mistress, Syrah, with an internship in Australia. His three-month tryst evolved into a 15-month romance with the famed Australian Shiraz. After returning to the states, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis’ renowned wine program. He later founded his eponymous Santa Ynez winery and vineyard.

Our final guest is Texas-native, Casey Thompson, who made her professional start under celebrity chef, Dean Fearing, at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek— one of Texas' most historical fine dining restaurants. From there, she opened and became the executive chef at one of Dallas' most popular Asian restaurants, Shinsei. After finishing as a finalist and earning the "Fan Favorite" title on Top Chef season three in Miami, Thompson settled in San Francisco and traveled the world, learning techniques from places as far as Thailand and Argentina.

To stay connected with their biggest fans in this fast-changing environment, The Bruery started hosting a weekly Virtual Happy Hour series four weeks ago. After their first session saw thousands of viewers across Facebook and YouTube live streams, the team decided to make it a weekly event. This week, the conversation will center around the relationships between beer, wine, and food. Along with this, the team will be talking about an upcoming trio of collaboration beers with Chef Brooke called: The Vine, The Berry, and The Spice. Viewers can also drink along with the happy hour hosts by purchasing a Virtual Happy Hour Pack at www.thebruery.com/shop - with express shipping options available in CA and NV.

Make sure to tune in to The Bruery's YouTube channel or Facebook page at 5:00 PM PDT to join in on the fun.
