Thunder Island Brewing launches 16oz Cans and Portland Delivery

Thunder Island Brewing Co. is under-construction of their new location in Cascade Locks while juggling home beer delivery and releasing their first ever beers in package. Strangely, Thunder Island's beers are now more easily available than ever before with regular drop-offs in the gorge-area, Gresham, Troutdale, and starting this Friday - Portland.

Today Thunder Island announces a limited run of 16oz 4-packs of three different beers; Pet Rock and a Moon Boot Juicy IPA, Remember the Forest IPA, and After the Siesta Mexican Style Lager. Cans are now available in Oregon through self-distribution and SW Washington through Kendall’s Pioneer. Cases and 4-packs are now available for pick-up and delivery in the Taproom in Cascade Locks, and at Volcanic Bottle Shoppe in Hood River.

“I never thought we’d pull off a canning run in our current location,” says Andrew Rosette, Head Brewer, “But we did thanks to Craft Canning. I had three tanks of beer coming online. The choice was either to dump two delicious IPAs and a crushable Mexican lager down the drain or pivot our business model and find a way to get our beer to market swiftly and efficiently while still fresh. I love it when a plan comes together.”

In response to the changing business climate, Thunder Island is now offering same-day beer delivery of the 16oz cans and crowlers to Oregon customers in Cascade Locks and Hood River, and weekly delivery to the Gresham-Troutdale area on Thursdays, and now Portland starting this Friday April 17th. While the Taproom business has slowed down significantly, construction on the new Thunder Island building in downtown Cascade Locks continues to forge ahead, with a completion date set for Summer 2020. “Everyone is going stir crazy being out of work and quarantined at home. It’s been rough, we had to lay off 26 people, some who have worked for us for five years,” says Caroline Lipps, owner of Thunder Island. “It’s not a matter of if, but when we can bring our staff back. I think introducing these cans and continuing to press on with the new building gives our staff and customers hope and something to look forward to and celebrate.”

Conceived during the Eagle Creek Fire in the Columbia River Gorge, we pay homage to remembering the piney scent of adventure from our beloved forest. A classic west coast IPA with Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic hops that delivers a clean, tasty floral IPA. 4-Pack MSRP $15

After the Siesta Mexican-Style Lager ABV 4.7%
