U.S. Open Beer Championship adds Black is Beautiful category to competition
With over 1,000 breweries participating in the Black is Beautiful beer campaign for racial justice reform the U.S. Open Beer Championship has created a category in their honor. This years judged beer competition will accept entries into a Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout category. Registration is due by October 21st, 2020 and 100% of the entry fees will be donated to local organizations that support equality and inclusion.
The U.S. Open Beer Championship will award medals in 132 categories in 2020, which they say is the most of any beer competition in the world. The U.S. Open board of directors were inspired by the global movement for reform and after trying a few of the beers and seeing the community response they made the decision to include them.
