Great Notion launches direct-to-consumer shipping
Great Notion Brewing (GN), is expanding upon their successful GN Mobile app’s delivery options to include direct-to-consumer shipping in the state of Oregon with 8 more states rolling out in January. Known for their hazy/juicy IPA’s and decadent dessert beers and overstuffed fruit beers, Great Notion has developed a robust network to move their own beers across the pacific northwest without a distributor. With the new shipping feature, beer drinkers can now order the latest beer drops on the GN mobile app and have them shipped right to their home through UPS alongside other fulfillment options like local delivery within Portland or pick-up.

GN will roll out other states with lax liquor laws, including Nevada, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, Washington DC, New Hampshire, Washington and Pennsylvania beginning in January. Complex laws like sales tax varying county to county, state liquor reporting, max allotments and more really complicate the direct to customer shipping process.

Beer shipping will start at $20 for up to a case of beer (1-6 X four-packs), then $40 for 7-12 four packs, $60 for 13-18 four packs and so on. Merchandise shipping is just $10 or free if customers order 3 four packs or more or spend $100 on merchandise.
GN spent months researching and designing the perfect box to ship the company’s beer. “The packaging had to be thick enough so beer cans wouldn’t be crushed, it had to have the perfect dimensions to hold 4 packs spaced precisely with the ability to add ice packs in the summer, and most importantly - it had to make our customers’ jaws drop!” said Paul Reiter, CEO. “We wanted to have the Tiffany blue box, Voodoo Doughnuts pink box, iPad white box of the beer world. An unbelievably sick unboxing experience that people would love the box as much as the beer.”
Great Notion now also ships all merchandise nationwide purchased on their mobile app. Prior, only certain merchandise was eligible for shipping but no longer. Now every state can purchase and receive the brewery’s unique merchandise like Luminous skateboard decks, GN coloring books, collectible mini figures, GN character origin story sticker packs and more.
