Oakshire brewer Dan Russo brings his Smash Burger Pop-Up to Ruse Brewing

Oakshire Brewing head brewer Dan Russo and Diane Cooper are bringing their side hustle ‘Smash Action Team’ to Portland for a pop-up at Ruse Brewing this Sunday, May 16th. Russo and Cooper have been slinging smash burgers for friends and family at small events on their front lawn during the pandemic last year but are bringing their classic double burgers and signature sauces that pair well crispy lagers and sweet and tropical Hazy IPA’s of Ruse Brewing.

Known for his Smoothie Sours, Russo has a passion for the crispy edged and gooey American cheese smash burger trend and has been chronicling their adventures via the @SmashActionTeam instagram account. This Sunday from 1-7pm they will be set up and griddling burgers in the loading dock area of Ruse Brewing’s taproom at the Iron Fireman Collective in southeast Portland. Smash Action Team will be taking orders at their own station and delivering to seated customers with table numbers until they are sold-out of 150 smashies they are prepped for. Sadly, no Smoothie Sours will be available, but there will be more than enough delicious Ruse beer.

Burgers are $12 (comes with a bag of chips).

Classic Double Cheeseburger

2-2.5oz House Ground Patties (Chuck, Sirloin, Bacon). Topped with Cooper's Sharp American Cheese and served on a Reality Kitchen (Eugene Bakery) Burger Bun. Optional to add our House-made Action Sauce (Burger Sauce)

Double Fried Onion Cheese Burger

2-2.5oz House Ground Patties (Chuck, Sirloin, Bacon) smashed on the griddle with sweet onions. Topped with Cooper's Sharp American Cheese and served on a Reality Kitchen (Eugene Bakery) Burger Bun. Optional to add our House-made Action Sauce (Burger Sauce)
