Victory Brew for Ukraine livestreams with Pravda Brewery and seeks collaborators

Unless you have been living under a rock you probably know about the horrific war in Ukraine. Tragedies like this touch everyone, and the craft beer industry has been no exception. This Tuesday, March 15th brewers from around the world will mash-in for a live brew session with Yuri from Pravda beer who recently went viral for their fundraising efforts and turning beer bottles into Molotov cocktails. It’s not too late to get involved by brewing a beer for charity, or donating some funds to the appropriate causes.

Canadian brewer and promoter Vern Raincock and Russ Klisch of Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukie, WA have both worked with Pravda Brewery in the past, and have teamed-up to promote and organize collaboration beers and live streams for Ukraine.

For several years, PRAVDA BEER THEATRE in Lviv, Ukraine imported and sold Lakefront Brewery ales in Ukraine. In fact a recent collaboration was "MILWAUKEE LVIV" representing the Ukrainian Heritage in Wisconsin, mutual love of craft beer, and most importantly, friends from both sides of the pond.

The online brewing collaboration “Victory Brew 2” will stream via Zoom & YouTube link soon on Tuesday, March 15th for about 3 hours. Between 5 and 8pm Ukrainian time which is 3 and 6 GMT and between 8 and 11am Pacific Time so that they may finish by the strict Ukraine wartime curfew of 10pm their time.

The homepage of www.brewforukraine.beer identifies the breweries that are participating in limited release fundraisers, so far I see only Baerlic Brewing, Threshold Brewing & Blending, Rogue Ales, Crooked Roots Brewing, and Integrity Brewing from Oregon. In Washington we see Obec Brewing, No Boat, Fair Isle and HOH Brewing, signed up. It would be nice to see more latecomers.

Brewers can download the labels & recipes from the website. If you dont have the time or resources to customize a label with your own government/legal and brewery branding info the brew for ukraine project have volunteer brewers / graphic artists to help you do that. The website has links to the international refugee relief agencies active in eastern Europe.

Follow @brew4ukraine twitter and they are doing their best to make sure their fundraisers are added to the website homepage.
