Ferment Brewing releases seasonal IPA, Pilsner, and Fresh Hop in cans

Hood River, Oregon’s Ferment Brewing has released three new seasonals, Bright West IPA and German-Style Pilsner in 12oz cans, and their first hop harvest beer of the year Fresh Hop Centennial Pale Ale is in 16oz cans.

More from a press release:

Released in 2021 as part of the brewery’s Top & Bottom Ferment series—which sees the simultaneous release of a top fermenting ale and bottom fermenting lager every two months—Bright West IPA and German-Style Pilsner emerged from the program as crowd pleasers. The beers did so well, the Ferment team decided to release them in 12oz 6-pack cans and extend their availability to four months.

Bright West is a golden-colored West Coast IPA and one of the most popular beers at Ferment’s Hood River tasting room. Cascade, Chinook and Mosaic hops were added through the brewery’s cool pool technique, providing pine and grapefruit citrus aromatics without introducing a lot of bitterness. The beer clocks in at 6.5% ABV. Brewed with a blend of noble hops from Germany, Ferment’s German-Style Pilsner exemplifies the time honored summer beer that has taken the world by storm since 1870. The 5.4% ABV beer is dry, crisp, floral, and good for either sipping or crushing.

On August 31, Ferment is set to release Fresh Hop Centennial Pale, which is the first of the brewery’s two fresh hop beers this season. The fresh Centennial hops were harvested from Coleman Farms in Woodburn, Oregon, trucked back to the brewery the same day as harvest, and immediately packed into a fermenter containing a freshly brewed American Pale Ale. The base beer is brewed with Rahr Old World Pilsner malt and malted wheat, making way for a big peach, grapefruit, and distinct fresh hop character. Fresh hop fanatics can find the beer on draft at Ferment Brewing’s tasting room overlooking the Columbia River, and in 16oz 4-pack cans throughout Ferment’s distribution footprint in Oregon and Washington.
