Canby Beer Library celebrates 1st Anniversary
Oregon City Brewing’s Canby Beer Library To Celebrate 1st Anniversary with an Oktoberfest-Themed Party October 18 Featuring a Staff-Brewed Anniversary Beer, Live Music, And More
South of Oregon City is the Canby Beer Library, a large expansion of Oregon City Brewing’s popular concept highlighting a wildly extensive taplist of contemporary and old school beer styles with indoor/outdoor beer hall and food truck pod rolled into one. For years the Canby Beer Library made annual appearances on The New School’s most anticipated upcoming breweries and taprooms and its hard to believe its now been open for one full year.
Oregon City Brewing will celebrate the first anniversary of its second location with an Oktoberfest-themed party from 2-10 pm on Saturday, October 18 at the Canby Beer Library at 292 N Holly St. in Canby. Oregon City Brewing will mark the milestone with a new beer brewed with the staff of the Canby Beer Library, live music, beer specials, a stein-holding competition, treats, and raffle prizes.
Festival Brass will play from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, and the stein-holding competition will take place during Festival Brass’s break.
Head Brewer David Vohden and the entire staff of the Canby Beer Library collaborated on an anniversary IPA for the occasion, aptly titled Chapter 1. The 8% West Coast Imperial IPA features Mosaic, Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe and Amarillo hops.
“We opened the Canby Beer Library to be a gathering place for the community — where great beer, food, and people come together,” Oregon City Brewing owner Bryce Morrow says. “Canby has welcomed us with open arms this past year, and we’re excited to celebrate with an Oktoberfest-style party that brings everyone together the way only great beer and food can.”
More about Oregon City Brewing: The American dream is starting a business in your garage. Then growing out of the garage and transforming a derelict carpet store into a living room for the community. Our goal is to build a multi-generational business where employees and customers are treated like family. Oregon City Brewing is a new American brewery, the product of our thriving Oregon craft beer culture, shaped deeply by Oregon City values: quality craftsmanship and a spirit of innovation.
“We were born and raised in Oregon City and most of our family still lives there,” co-owner Bryce Morrow says. The last time there was a brewery in downtown Oregon City was 1895 by Henry Weinhard. Oregon City Brewing aims to do Henry proud by pioneering beer for the Pioneer City.
