MXPDX Mexico/Oregon Collaboration Fiesta de La Cerveza debuting in Portland
This summer a new beer, food, culture, festival called MXPDX brings together Mexico and Oregon craft cultures and communities in Portland for the inaugural fiesta de la cerveza. The new conceptual beer fest will bring Mexican craft beer to Oregon for the first time, with brewers from 13 central Mexico breweries sending beer and brewing new collaborations with Oregon brewers and cidermakers exclusively for the event.
Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural MXPDX taking place on July 19th at The Redd on Salmon events venue at 831 SE Salmon St, Portland, OR 97214. The festival will alternate between Portland and Mexico, with the 2026 festival tentatively scheduled for Spring 2026 in Mexico City.
In addition to 26 beers and ciders (13 collaboration beers and ciders, and 13 imported small-batch Mexican craft beers from each of the participating breweries), there will also be a Mexican-style bebidas bar by Straightaway Cocktails, Mexican-American made PNW wine, and non-alcoholic aguas frescas.
Indoors and outdoors, the MXPDX pop-up mercado will feature arts, crafts, gifts, and a wide range of authentic Mexican cuisine including tacos, tamales, productos horneados, antojito street food, sonoran foods, postre desserts, and botanas snacks.
Additional entertainment will come from two stages hosting music from Latino DJs and live bands, to dance and luchador wrestling taking place throughout the day.
MXPDX is presented by Portland, OR based Beer Friends 501(c)(4), the organization behind Japan/Oregon collaboration fest Fuji to Hood and sister event Hood to Fuji in Tokyo. Beer Friends partnered with Mexico City-based craft beer pros Jose Fernando Rincón and Diego Lara, co-founders of Falling Piano Brewing and Hop: The Beer Experience. Rincón and Lara were born and raised in Mexico City. They became captivated by craft beer in 2008 at a time when few imported beers were available at their local bars. Utilizing their professional backgrounds in logistics, they began importing beer to Mexico a few years later, and this eventually led to their first taproom, Hop: The Beer Experience, in 2014. In 2016, they opened their second location, Hop2, which is the largest taproom in Latin America with 52 craft beer taps. In 2018, Rincón and Lara opened Falling Piano Brewing, and cemented their reputation as leaders of the vibrant and developing Mexico City craft beer community.
Tickets for MXPDX Mexico/Oregon collaboration festival are ON SALE NOW, and the full list of participating breweries, food, vendors, music, etc. will be announced soon.
