Portland’s new German beer garden Alpenhütte throws a Summer Solstice Radler Party
Celebrate the Summer Solstice with Radlers, Pilsner, Wine, and More!
There is a new space where you can find a Portland summer spin on the traditional German beer garden experience called Alpenhütte, and they are kicking off the season with a Summer Solstice Radler Party this Friday, June 27th. In celebration of the occasion the newish Portland brewery Commensal Fermentation have brewed them an exclusive German-style Pilsner which will be making it’s debut, alongside wine tasting and housemade radlers!
ALPENHüTTE
Famed local purveyors of cured meats Olympia Provisions, transformed their 3384 SE Division St location OP Public House into a German Alpine experience called Alpenrausch in 2024. With patio weather upon us, Alpenrausch has transformed their outdoor lot into Alpenhütte - a sausage-slinging, beer-guzzling, hut-forward patio party where the mountains are imaginary but the bratwurst is very, very real. Expect snappy sausages, beer galore, schnaps and cocktails, great wine, fun times.
RADLERS:
Four housemade Radlers built on the crisp, floral Alpenglühen, the only antidote to summer heat. Think strawberry, cherry, blueberry, all straight from Oregon farms. Radler, Panaché, Shandy. Call it what you want, you just don’t want to miss it.
COMMENSAL Alpenglühen Tyrolean Pilsner:
Summer Solstice Radler Party at Alpenhütte will feature the exclusive release of Commensal Fermentation’s Alpenglühen Tyrolean Pilsner, brewed just for Alpenhütte. Guests can enjoy a complimentary tasting, with cans available for purchase, plus a menu of four housemade radlers featuring Alpenglühen as the base beer.
WINE & FACE PAINTING:
Also popping up for the evening is Archetyp Alpine, pouring a curated selection of imported wines for on-the-house tastings and retail purchase. Local artist Romana Sena (@romonsta) will be offering whimsical face painting throughout the night.
