Elvira’s Spicy Pumpkins collaboration with Bauman’s Cider and Mistress of the Dark

The one and only Cassandra Peterson (aka Elvira Mistress of the Dark) has teamed up with Bauman’s Cider Co., the award-winning Oregon cidery rooted in a fifth-generation Willamette Valley farm, to conjure a bewitching new release just in time for spooky season: Elvira’s Spicy Pumpkins. This marks the Elvira brand’s first-ever cider collaboration, bringing her iconic gothic glamor into the craft beverage world.

Made from a blend of fresh-pressed dessert apples and infused with cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and clove, Spicy Pumpkins channels the sultry, mischievous essence of Elvira herself. At 6.7% ABV and packaged in 12oz cans, this seasonal cider balances Bauman’s farm-grown authenticity with a wickedly playful edge.

The collaboration was born of many conversations and taste trials between Bauman’s and Cassandra, exploring flavors that could capture both her signature spiciness and Bauman’s heritage of sourcing local fruit and seasonal ingredients. “I’ve always been a fan of pumpkins—usually carved, sometimes smashed, and now, finally, in a cider. Spicy Pumpkins is so delicious it’s scary! I can’t wait to raise a glass with my fans,” said Cassandra Peterson.

For Bauman’s, the pumpkin harvest has always been central to the farm’s identity. It's a place where families gather for jack-o’-lanterns, giant pumpkin weigh-offs, hot spiced cider, and fall festivities. Spicy Pumpkins brings that nostalgia and playfulness into every sip. “The harvest season is our heartbeat. Pumpkins, apples, and people are what we’ve always been about,” said Christine Walter, founder of Bauman’s Cider Co. “To create Elvira’s first cider collaboration, we knew it had to be something bold, mischievous, and with a touch of spice. Spicy Pumpkins is a celebration of all things autumnal and spooky.”

Spicy Pumpkins will hit shelves and taps starting today, available through distribution in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Minnesota, with shipping to 42 states via Bauman’s online store.

Launch Event: October 5 at Bauman’s Farm

To mark the release, Bauman’s will host a special tasting event on October 5, 12–4pm at the farm in Gervais, Oregon. Coming on the heels of Bauman’s legendary Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off and Pumpkin Drop, the day will feature colossal gourds and the ceremonial tapping of a giant pumpkin filled with Spicy Pumpkins cider.

About Bauman’s Cider Co.

Bauman’s Cider Company launched in 2016 as an experiment in estate-grown ciders and a love letter to founder Christine Bauman Walter’s fifth-generation Willamette Valley farm. Since then, Bauman’s has become a deeply rooted cidery celebrated for balancing accessibility and elegance while pushing cider culture forward on a global stage.

Recent collaborations include a sweetgrass-infused cider with Son of the Smith Hard Cider of Japan and Lan Su Chinese Gardens in Portland, and Do You Fancy a Road Trip?, an estate blend named in homage to Christine Walter’s friendship with legendary UK cidermaker Tom Oliver. With over 160 medals to date, including a first-ever perfect score at the Northwest Cider Cup and five medals at the International Cider and Brewing Awards, Bauman’s has earned five consecutive Mid-Sized Cidery of the Year titles at two of the nation’s most prestigious competitions.

In 2025, Bauman’s expanded beyond its Willamette Valley farm base with Bauman’s on Oak, a cider-driven taproom, restaurant, and production facility in downtown Portland—the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. Through world-class cider, high-touch hospitality, and a spirit of collaboration, Bauman’s continues to redefine what cider can be.
