Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has teamed up with three other craft brewers recognized in Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine’s 2025 Best in Beer Readers’ Choice Awards, to brew an extra special West Coast IPA aptly named Readers’ Choice. Brewers from Russian River Brewing Co. (Windsor, Calif.), Green Cheek Beer Co. (Orange, Calif.) and Pinthouse Brewing (Austin, Tx.) gathered at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.(Chico, Calif.) earlier this summer to collaborate on a small batch, specialty beer packed with double dry-hopped notes of tropical fruit, citrus and pine to commemorate the Readers’ Choice honor. All four breweries were ranked number one in their respective brewery size categories in the Your Favorite Breweries section of the overall 2025 awards, announced in November of last year.
“I got chills being in the brewhouse with some of the best brewers in craft beer as we were developing Readers’ Choice,” said Terence Sullivan, Industry Ambassador & Small Batch Production Specialist at Sierra Nevada. “Ken Grossman even showed up to brew and personally provide an in-depth brewery tour. The whole day was magical, reminding me of why I fell in love with this craft in the first place. The final beer is not only delicious, it is exceptional. A true symbol of what makes craft beer great – passion, attention to detail, and friendship within the brewing community.”
Dry-hopping started with classic Cascade hops, a signature of Sierra Nevada, followed later by a secondary hopping with hops that represent each of the other breweries—Mosaic, Simcoe, and a New Zealand Hop experimental variety brought to the collaboration by Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River. Proceeds from every can support the California Craft Brewers Association, the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild, and the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.

Tasting Notes: Aromatic hop notes of tropical fruit, citrus and pine precede big hop flavors and full-bodied mouthfeel of this traditional, premium West Coast IPA.
