Away Days Brewing unveils beer list for Cask Fest 2022

Away Days Brewing, inner southeast Portland’s small (but soon to be growing into a new location) purveyors of new and old world British-style ales and lagers is at it again with the gravity poured Cask Fest on Saturday, June 11th, 2022. First held in March of 2020, Cask Days was one of the last events before the pandemic and one of the first to return as it did so in fall of 2021. This makes for the 3rd annual event, and even if you miss it Away Days plans to host two a year going forward, one in spring/early summer and one in the fall.

The latest edition of Cask Fest features the largest lineup yet, with 11 firkins from 7 different breweries: Upright Brewing, Machine House, Gigantic Brewing, SteepleJack Brewing, ForeLand Beer, Porter Brewing, Level Beer, and a special release from Away Days Brewing.

In a change of pace for the primarily British-style beers of Away Days Brewing they have collaborated with the recent Small Oregon Brewery of the Year winner Nebuleus Beer on a special Table Beer. This is an extra hoppy 3.7% ABV Belgian ale, brewed with Saaz, Styrian Kolibri and Moral hops that will be pouring on cask at the event.

New to cask? Cask-conditioned beer, traditionally ale, is a long-standing tradition in English brewing that takes an extra amount of care from the brewer and cellar person. The beer is racked into the cask unpasteurized and unfiltered to further condition. After the beer has fully matured it is served utilizing gravity or a hand pump at a slightly warmer temperature and lower carbonation than typical draft beer. This presentation creates a soft, full-flavored, living expression of a beer that will be unique from cask to cask and even pint to pint.

Cask Days tickets are $25 which get you a custom 20oz mug and drink tickets for either two full-pours or four half-pours depending on how much you would like to sample. Early entry presale are sold-out, but general public can walk up for admission from 2-8pm.
