Eugene, Oregon’s Alesong Brewing & Blending is celebrating their 6th anniversary with a two-day weekend event and a collaboration beer release with Ruse Brewing. Known for their mixed culture oak-aged beers in corked bottles, Alesong mixes things up every year on their anniversary by releasing a clean Canniversary Collaboration IPA in 16oz cans instead.

Saturday and Sunday, June 18th and 19th, Alesong’s countryside brewery and taproom at 80848 Territorial Hwy will feature live music from Eugene-local Brewkats Band on Saturday and Whiteaker Hot Club on Sunday, Pizzeria DOP slinging wood-fired pizzas, complimentary and cellar tours from 1-8pm.

As a tongue in cheek nod to the common practice of breweries releasing once-a-year anniversary beers outside of their normal production styles, Alesong worked with Portland, Oregon’s Ruse Brewing to create “6th Canniversary.” This tropical West Coast IPA made with Galaxy, Citra, Motueka, and Mosaic hops. It will be available on draft and in cans for a limited time at both Alesong tasting rooms, at the Portland release and collaboration Alesong / Ruse tap takeover at The BeerMongers on June 16th, and in Ruse’s Southeast Portland Taproom. In addition to Alesong’s anniversary, this IPA celebrates the wonderfully collaborative nature of the beer industry, showcases Ruse’s significant expertise in crafting delicious IPAs, and acknowledges that although Alesong makes only barrel-aged beers, we still have plenty of love for the crisp and hoppy beers that have defined West Coast brewing over the past 10-15 years!

One of Alesong’s three co-founders, Doug Coombs says this anniversary is meaningful because it’s a chance to gather and celebrate our community. “We’re ready to let loose and party after another year of COVID ups and downs and really kick off what’s sure to be a fun summer in the Eugene area – and beyond,” says Coombs. “It’s also about making space to acknowledge all of the hard work our team puts in and our many supporters who’ve made it possible for us to grow and thrive for six(!) crazy years.”

ABOUT ALESONG BREWING AND BLENDING: Alesong Brewing and Blending is a small artisan brewery based in the heart of Southern Willamette Valley wine country that crafts unique and small-batch beers with a focus on oak aging and Belgian-inspired techniques, brewing both wild and non-wild beers, using locally grown fruits, herbs and a host of special yeasts and other microbes.  Once the beer in the barrels has matured, the team samples and selects each barrel individually to blend. Paying homage to old-world Lambic blenders and artisan winemakers, Alesong believes that the final, balanced blend of a barrel-aged beer is much more satisfying than the sum of its parts or each individual barrel by itself.
