Ferment Brewing releases a trove of big and barrel-aged beers for winter

Hood River, Oregon’s Ferment Brewing is celebrating December with their annual release of big, and strong and barrel-aged beers, and always a few lighter offerings to round things out. All new releases come in bottles fit to gift and cellar, or cans suitable for drinking fresh. And as annual tradition goes, Ferment Brewing’s heated, dog friendly second-floor patio yurts are back for the season.

Emerging from deep within the crevices of the brewery, two limited barrel aged beers are available now in 500ml bottles. Stout Blend No. 34 honoring Zupan’s Markets 50th anniversary is a 12.6% ABV blend of carefully selected barrels, aged up to twenty-two months creating a rich beer with cherry and port wine character. The 12.2% ABV 2025 Imperial Stout, which is also available on draft, was aged in a mix of whiskey and red wine oak barrels to create a combination of  toasted almond and caramelized apple flavors with a deep chocolate complexity.

Ferment also released a treasure trove of vintage bottles at its tasting room: the 2022 Imperial Stout, 2023 Barleywine Ale, 2023 Farm to Market Blend No. 27 collaboration with Zupan’s and more. Exclusive vertical sets of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 barrel-aged Imperial Stout are also available in special holiday packaging. While bottle shopping, enjoy sipping a draft pour of 2024 Stock Ale, aged with Brettanomyces and matured in the keg for a year.

For those preferring something a little lighter in weight but still dark in color, Doug The Dark Ale, our CDA offers bold roasted malts and smooth rolled oats at 7.1% ABV, with a hefty dose of locally grown Mosaic and Simcoe hops. For a brighter sip with a seasonal twist, King Tide Pilsner is inspired by the powerful waves at the coast this time of year. The beer is a full bodied, cold-ferment pilsner with bold NW Citra and Crystal hops. Both beers are available on draft and in 16oz cans throughout Oregon and Washington.
